ChocoNut Spread

ChocoNut Spread

I Fell in Chocolate✨

I fall in chocolate every single day! That is why I prefer to make my choices healthier. Few years ago I would fall into Nutella over and over again, but hey, have you ever met any other spread as sugary and oily as that jar? It has everything in it to make it addictive and honestly it did not do good for my skin either.
I slowly swopped Nutella with pure nut spreads but I actually never tried to make a jar of Nutella myself. I got addicted to Mr. PB – my dear Mr. Peanut Butter, and as our love still lasts I didn´t really plan on finding a new favourite. But as we all know, life is unpredictable and so did the Mr. ChocoNut Spread sneak into my life.

Almost Nutella but Not!

Honestly, I hate the vegan side of creating equivalent food for replacement. Like cheese vs. vegan cheese that is actually no cheese at all 🤣 Couldn´t we just name them as new? That is why I call my creation ChocoNut spread instead. It is a sweet spread made of hazelnuts and cacao but it will never taste equal to the worldknown Nutella. So, not to disappoint any expectations this spread is worth having its own unique name.

ChocoNut Spread Made Of:
  • roasted hazelnuts
  • cacao powder
  • coconut oil
  • maple syrup
  • cinnamon & vanilla

This ChocoNut Spread is a new heaven! All you need is a food processor, roasted hazelnuts, cacao powder, coconut oil and something for a sweet touch. I used maple syrup and added some cinnamon and vanilla for taste. But go as wild as you wish with different additions.

Equipment

  • food processor

Ingredients

  • 100 g roasted hazelnuts
  • 3 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup more for sweeter taste
  • 0,5 tsp vanilla extract
  • touch of cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil room temperature

Instructions

  • blend roasted hazelnuts in a food processor about 5 minutes. (until it turns into smooth nutbutter, occasionally scraping down the sides)
  • add cacao, maple syrup, vanilla and cinnamon - blend until nice, smooth and runny
  • add coconut oil - blend until combined
  • pour into a glas jar and store in room temperature.

Notes

  • It makes quite a tiny portion but as the taste is very rich it will last as long as a huge jar of Nutella
  • you can buy raw nuts and roast them yourself

Hope you got a new favourite now. Perfect for Sunday Pancakes or for a rice cake topping as I love to use it. It is super easy to make, takes only about 10 minutes in total and is healthy as heaven. If you can’t find roasted hazelnuts make some yourself.
Just be careful not to forget them into the oven. Happens to me too often when roasting some nuts. That’s why I prefer to pay a little more and get the already roasted ones than end up with a lot of charcoal and bad mood 😅

Hope you love this recipe and if you make it don´t forget to tag me on your posts on instagram with #lifetreatsrecipe and @my_life_my_treats so I can enjoy all your creations!

Have a beautiful day full of sweetness!
