Starting from the amazing garlic breath that you´ll carry for a while and finishing with natural detoxification Wild Garlic is for you to get rid of the unwanted both inside and outside. Those people who love you because of you will stay close nevertheless. And the rest you can just blow away, literally 🤣
Fresh wild garlic is one of the first spring herbs that can help you boost your health and wake your body up from the long winter slumber. It is also called bear’s garlic as it is the first thing bears start to munch on after their hibernation. So, what do you think, should we also follow the Nature´s guidelines towards the healthier happier self?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine the spring is in the Wood element (Five Element Theory). Meaning, it is the time to grow, a rebirth, a new beginning. Like a tree grows and spreads its branches so must we move the energy in our body, destroy the blockages caused by stuck emotions and bad living habits and get ready to bloom and mature until the winter takes us back to its lap when the circle completes.
The organ that is associated with this green time is the liver. The liver is responsible for smooth flow of energy, emotions and blood, helping us to detoxify both body and mind, create a secure future vision and avoid falling into the depression. It is the organ that is most affected by excess stress and emotions. That is why it is very important to keep your liver happy, your wood element balanced. Everything that is spicy and pungent in taste supports the liver functions, especially during the spring time. But not to go crazy about it either, too much is never good, leading to some other imbalances between the five elements.
It is said that fresh wild garlic has antibacterial and antibiotic properties and aids with digestion. It contains vitamins A and C, and minerals such as calcium, iron, manganese and magnesium.
You can use wild garlic in salads, soups and spreads. As I am in love with pesto every spring time here comes the recipe:
